Director of Admissions

POSTSECONDARY PROPRIETARY SCHOOL

The Director of Admissions will have a demonstrated track of meeting start goals with quality enrollments, which enrollees persist and complete the courses of study. Hiring, training and motivating admissions reps is a key part of the DOA’s job. The DOA should know the difference between a television lead and a direct mail lead and the conversion techniques for both, as well as leads from other sources. A successful DOA should know how to "take over" a prospective enrollment in those cases where the admissions rep cannot quite convince the prospect to enroll. Working with other departments, e.g. Financial Aid, Education, is a very important part of the DOA’s job.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven track record of performance in sales/admissions management.
  • Intimate knowledge of admissions rep. training/motivation techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of lead/appointment; appointment/interview; interview/start performance ratios.
  • Knowledge of advertising media, e.g., electronic, print, direct mail, etc.
    Strong ability to manage a student referral program.
  • Good understanding of all areas of compliance re admissions, financial aid, education, placement etc.
  • History of success in meeting start goals.
  • Excellent networking skills needed to hire admissions reps.
