At Shefrin and Associates our agency agreements are usually with the seller. As such the seller pays the transaction fee, but only when the school is sold - “Success Fee”.

EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT

Gregory Shefrin Gregory Shefrin is a founding member of Shefrin, Olson & Olive, LLC, dba: Shefrin & Associates and son of company founder David S. Shefrin. Greg brings over 20 years of investment banking, corporate finance and private wealth management experience, having raised over $5 billion in capital to support M&A and refinancings across the education, media, telecom, real estate, consumer and transportation industries and captured over $1 billion in new private wealth assets. Mr. Shefrin was previously a senior member of Deutsche Bank’s investment banking/private wealth management cross-sell group, responsible for sourcing new managed assets from its Financial Sponsor, Real Estate & Gaming, Media & Telecom and Consumer Groups, as well as from private bankers and brokers. Prior to that, Mr. Shefrin was a Director in several corporate finance and investment banking groups at Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust and The Bank of New York, covering both leveraged and Fortune 500 clients. Mr. Shefrin received his MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and his BA in Economics and Government from Colby College. Mr. Shefrin holds the Series 7 and 63 securities industry licenses.

Jeff Olson Jeff Olson has more than 23 years of experience in the career college sector having served as President of International Institute of the Americas (now Brookline College) and Academy of Business (now Everest College), both in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Olson was named VP of Brokerage for David Shefrin and Associates in 2008. In 2011 Mr. Olson, Greg Shefrin and Maureen Olive teamed up to purchase DSA as David retired. SA generally represents school owners, but has several “buy side” agreements as well. Mr. Olson creates financial models to illustrate Return on Investment (ROI), uses electronic media to assist with due diligence, and verifies “deal worthiness” of potential buyers. The company has completed four transactions in the past two years and 34 overall. Mr. Olson has a MA in Adult Education and a BA in Political Science, both from Washington State University.

Maureen Olive Maureen Olive has successfully recruited Sr. Level Management with David Shefrin and Associates since 2002. Maureen brings over 25 years experience in recruitment/search and securities Industry portfolio management to Shefrin & Associates. Over the past 10 years she has worked with client school groups across the U.S. and abroad to find the executive talent sought to bring organizations to the next level. Prior to Shefrin & Associates, Maureen was an Executive Recruiter for the retained executive search firm EFL International for 5 years. Clients included many fortune 500 companies and others across a variety of industries. Before entering into executive search, Maureen spent 12 years as an Account Executive, most recently with Wedbush Morgan Securities. Maureen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kean University and MBA credits earned from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
